Dr. David Bryan was born and raised in north Louisiana. A graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge, he earned his medical degree at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. After completing his internship and residency, he served as a fellow at the Vitreo Retinal Research Foundation in Memphis, as well as a preceptorship in corneal disease and Ophthalmic plastic surgery. Dr. Bryan has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Shreveport since 1980 and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. In 2010, he joined the WK Eye Institute Pierremont where he offers the newest technology in cataract, LASIK and laser eye surgery as part of the Willis-Knighton Physician Network. Dr. Bryan also serves as an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at LSU Health Shreveport. He considers each patient to be a member of his “practice” family striving to give care for their vision and a vision for their care.
Dr. Stephen W. Lewis graduated from the Southern College of Optometry and has provided eye care to the Ark-La-Tex at Willis-Knighton for nearly 30 years. He specializes in pre- and post-operative care of cataract and refractive surgery patients, with special emphasis on laser cataract surgery and premium intraocular lens implants. As a glaucoma patient himself, Dr. Lewis manages and treats this as well as other eye conditions such as diabetic eye disease and age-related macular degeneration. He also offers comprehensive eye exams for glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Lewis and his staff take great pride in giving the highest quality of care to patients, young and old, using the most advanced technology available.
A Coushatta native Dr. Wyche T. Coleman III earned his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and, after an ophthalmology residency there, established the WK Eye Institute South. The son of a physician, medicine was a natural career for him and he honors his rural roots, serving at satellite clinics in Coushatta and Mansfield. With a passion for new technology, he is among the most experienced laser cataract surgeons in the region and is constantly in investigating new procedures, such as the iStent. Dr. Coleman also teaches ophthalmology residents at LSU Health Shreveport. Dr. Coleman is also owner of Tubreaux Aviation. As a physician and surgeon, he takes pride in offering not just the latest in LASIK and refractive surgery but comprehensive care for the entire family.
Dr. Christopher Shelby is a Shreveport native and the son of Louisiana’s Pioneering Heart Surgeon, Dr. J. Stanford Shelby. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He earned a medical degree from LSU School of Medicine, specializing in ophthalmology and is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has focused on leading edge technology and was the first in Louisiana to be certified to perform laser cataract surgery using the LenSx Femtosecond Laser. Dr. Shelby has been at the forefront of advances like iStent for treatment of glaucoma and the miniature telescopic implant procedure for macular degeneration. He also teaches, sharing his surgery expertise with physicians at LSU Health and the VA Medical Center. Dr. Shelby and his staff are dedicated to giving the best care to patients in a caring environment.
