CRIMINAL LAW

1200 Milam Street.

Shreveport, LA 71101 (318) 424-1111

Peter R. Flowers, a well known Shreveport Attorney, has practiced primarily in the field of criminal dense for the past 33 years. His practice includes many areas of criminal law, such as white collar offenses, drug offenses, sex crimes, and crimes against people and property.

“At Flowers and Long, we care about our clients, we worry about them and respect them. They feel safe here and know that we empathize with them. We don’t judge. They know that we care about their problems and that what matters to them matters to us.”

In addition to handling cases in criminal court, Mr. Flowers negotiates resolutions for professional clients whose industries are regulated by oversight boards. For example, many times doctors, nurses or pharmacists have disputes that can be handled by entering into “Consent Agreement.” According to Flowers, “it is not uncommon for people who work in complex and highly regulated areas to unintentionally run afoul of the rules of their profession and the law.”

When asked about white collar crimes, Flowers said, “These days it’s easy for people to step over the line. Rules and regulations governing complicated industries such as banking and the proper disbursement of government connected funds can be very complex. Many times people find themselves caught up in the judicial system for making honest mistakes with absolutely no criminal intention whatsoever. Anyone who gets mixed up in the legal system needs a guide. And sometimes, a lawyer just needs to be that guide.”

Mr. Flowers attended the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis and Loyola University School of Law. He is a member of the Shreveport Bar Association (SBA) and the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA). He is also a founding member of Criminal Defense Bar Association of NW Louisiana (CDBA) and sits on the board of the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (LACDL). He has recently been awarded the AVVO clients choice award and named to the Top 100 Lawyers list by the National Association of Trial Lawyers. He and his partner Kelly Long practice in the Shreveport River Front District, in the historic Levee building on the corner of Milam and Commerce in Shreveport.
