A special salute to living in style

Recently, I had the pleasure of working for Susan Thomas in her new home in Benton. Thomas is in the military and stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. She has a super-cool job having to do with cyber security, but it’s all very hush-hush.

She had four words describing exactly what she wanted her new living room to be, and those were: girly, comfy, pretty and glam.

I ask each new client to pull at least three to five “inspiration room” pictures because above all else, I am a visual person.

I hear it all the time that Shreveport-Bossier City doesn’t have good home furnishing stores. That simply is not true – you just have to know how to mix it up from the different places we do have.

Also, I don’t limit my shopping to just local; I drive to Monroe, Texarkana, Natchitoches and Jefferson, Texas, all the time for décor. Local doesn’t necessarily mean staying home. Traveling less than 100 miles is an easy day trip.

You can always get what you want – you just have to know where to get it.

Thomas is ecstatic with the results, and I want to thank her, not only for her trust in me but also for her service to our country.
