The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce will honor the top small businesses of 2013 as well as J. Pat Beaird Memorial Industry of the Year winner Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company, Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Homes, Cemeteries, Crematory & Flower Shop at a luncheon Oct. 3 at the Shreveport Country Club.

The J. Pat Beaird Memorial Industry of the Year Award recognizes a corporate entity from the greater Shreveport area for their outstanding business achievements. The award itself honors the memory of J. Pat Beaird Sr., whose lifetime of community service helped to make Shreveport and the state of Louisiana a better place to live and work.

The Forum Small Business of the Year Award nominees are: Loksafe Services Inc.; Shreveport Limousine, LLC; Smiths South- Central Sales Company, LLC; SPF Depot; TravelHost of Northwest Louisiana; and Vintage Realty Company, LLC. The award recognizes a small business for their outstanding business achievements and civic contributions. Nominations are solicited from the Greater Shreveport business community. The Senior Council of Retired Executives, select those businesses to be honored.

The luncheon honoring the businesses will feature speaker Dan Clark, president/CEO of the international communications and high performance consulting firm, Clark Success Systems. A New York Times best-selling author, award winning athlete, university professor, adventurer, journalist, Gold Record songwriter/ recording artist, philanthropist.
