You may wish you had nine lives for this party
It’s flashy.
It’s glitzy. It’s glamorous. It is the single most important event to see – and be seen – in the entire region, maybe the world.
Over 2,500 guests from Shreveport-Bossier and across the nation will party in their best and most sophisticated attire at 2016 Christmas in the Sky. “We’re All Mad Here” is the theme for this year’s mega-event produced by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council.
The fund-raiser for the arts will be held Dec. 10, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs.
(Yes, you can party for eight hours straight!) The award-winning gala has been recognized by “Special Events International Magazine” as the Best
Gala in the World. Tickets are $280 and are available Nov. 1 at
shrevearts. org. For corporate sponsorships, call Corrie Mason at
673-6500.
You
are invited to “tumble down the rabbit hole” and enjoy lavish buffets
and open bars, ice sculptures with martini chutes, lounge areas,
multiple bands and ongoing entertainment. The 18 fantastically designed
sets by area artists will overwhelm your senses. As you wander among the
many wonders, opportunities to bid on incredible silent auction items –
fine jewelry, rare and special wines, dinner parties, home décor and
artwork, along with professional services are just a few of the special
items you might snag over other bidders.
The
live auction is an excess of fun where things get really competitive
and bids can go into the tens of thousands of dollars for the most
desired items like trips to exotic destinations and foreign countries –
even cars!
The event
is chaired by Sky veteran Waynette Ballengee and cochaired by Heidi
Kallenberg. Linda B. Goldsberry is the design chair, and Donna Poimboeuf
is design co-chair. Sarah Toups is chair of the auction. The
sponsorship committee chairpersons are Sarah Anderson and Bridget Hamm.
Dr. Alan and Sheryl Little are wine auction chairs.
The
event is always a sell-out, so get your tickets right away. Proceeds
from the gala fund the arts in Northwest Louisiana for two years.
