Annual style event set for November 9
“Snoopy Takes a Road Trip!” is the theme of the 64th annual Loyola College Prep Style Show set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Shreveport Convention Center.
Loyola College Preparatory
School is Shreveport’s only four-year Catholic high school, and the
style show serves as the school’s largest fund-raiser and a venue for
recognizing graduating seniors as well as alumni. Last year the event
raised $40,000.
“Everybody
in the Loyola community gets involved, and everyone has a memory of
it,” said Kristen Watts of the show. Watts is the event’s publicity
chair. “They’re always a lot of fun and a great production.”
The
show’s chairpersons this year are Theresa Murphy, Missy Huckabay and
Lori Mays, all parents of Loyola Prep seniors, said Watts.
While
attendees dine on a catered lunch, the Loyola Senior Class of 2017 will
model fashions from local merchants as they entertain the crowd to a
soundtrack of road tunes. Merchants include: Altar’d State, Cactus
Trading Company, Cavender’s, Chez Rivage Boutique, Dillard’s, Favorite
Sisters’ Boutique, Gearhead Outfitters, Harper House Boutique, John
Pickens Custom Clothiers, Lorants Sporting Goods, M Clothing, The Paper
Tulip, Patton’s, Pope’s, Poppy Clothing, Simply Chic Boutique,
Sportspectrum, Squire’s Formal Wear and Vertage Clothing.
Multiple
grand prize packages will be raffled off, including a jewelry package
valued at $3,350; a football road trip package to see the Dallas
Cowboys; a baseball road trip to see LSU; and a basketball road trip to
see the New Orleans Pelicans play.
