HISTORY | Party in the parlor On Friday, June 10, History Comes Alive launches their weekly Parlor Pastimes with Mr. Lincoln program at Edwards Place. From 1-2 p.m. every Friday this summer, Mr. Abraham Lincoln will discuss parlor etiquette, parlor activities enjoyed by 19 th century families, and the adjustment to parlor culture after his childhood upbringing in a one-room log cabin. Experience parlor life by playing a game with Abe, hearing him recite poetry, and listening to period music played on the square grand piano once owned by Elizabeth and Ninian Edwards. Parlor Pastimes events are great for children, out-of-town visitors or anyone with an interest in the life and experiences of our 16th president. No reservations are necessary for this free event.
