Join the Springfield Art Association for its annual “Roasted: Hot Pots and Pork” event and fundraiser. Glaze a pre-made ceramic pot, watch it being fired in an outdoor Raku kiln and enjoy a hog roast dinner provided by Hickory River Smokehouse. Other highlights include live music by the Pleasure Chest Blues Band, ceramic activities, a roaring bonfire and cash bar. Want to support the Springfield Art Association but unable to attend the April 16 event? Place your spare change in one of the distinctly decorated piggy banks on display at local businesses. The piggybanks were created by prominent Springfield personalities including DJ Blake Stadel, artists Jeff Williams and Megan Craddock, SAA instructor Erin Rice, Downtown Springfield Incorporated’s Executive Director Lisa Stott and many others. Tickets to Roasted are $25 for an adult glazing pot with dinner, $10 for a child glazing pot with dinner and $10 admission for the event with dinner, but no pot to glaze.
