LECTURES | Actress/author Amber Tamblyn

Actress/author/director Amber Tamblyn will present two Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows Lectures at Illinois College 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, in Rammelkamp Chapel and Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirby Learning Center. Amber’s Monday presentation is titled “Hollyweird: Entertainment Business Realities, Successes, Pitfalls, Hardships and Discoveries.” Amber’s Tuesday discussion is entitled “Not Your Typical Poetry Reading: Poems and Musings on the Creative Life.” Tamblyn is known as an actress for her roles in “General Hospital,” 127 Hours, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Crossroads and “Joan of Arc.” In addition to being an accomplished actress, Amber is also a rising author. She has been writing poetry since age 12, and has published numerous volumes of poetry and prose, plus a recent book titled Dark Sparkler, an intimate look at the lives and deaths of 30 child actresses.
