It’s been a long road for the Access 4 Christian Producers, but they’ve fi nally reached home. As the name suggests, A4CP is a group of Christian producers who make television shows on Springfi eld’s public access channel. In late 2009, cable company Comcast announced that it would cede management of Access 4 to the City of Springfi eld as a cost-saving measure. The move cast producers – Christian and otherwise – into turmoil as the dedicated production studio provided by Comcast closed and the city took over management of the equipment. After becoming dissatisfi ed with the city’s management, the Access 4 Christian Producers decided to strike out on their own. Alyce Lyle, president of A4CP, says that after looking for a building for two-and-a-half years, the group took ownership of a small house at 1408 Loveland Avenue in Springfi eld on Sept. 1. Lyle says the four-room house is “perfect for what we’re doing.” The group has its own equipment, but Lyle says they still need donations of desks, chairs, tables, blinds, computers and a wheelchair ramp. They also welcome volunteers to mow the grass, shovel snow in winter and help with other tasks, she says. Lyle has been producing her show, Biblical Poetry and Mission News, since 1987. It can be viewed on Access 4 at 1:30 a.m., 9:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Mondays. “I love it,” she said. “It’s an opportunity to you to share your raw talent.” For more information about the Access 4 Christian Producers or to make a donation, call Alyce Lyle at 522-2527 or treasurer Ricky R. Smith at 481-1085.
