When two attractive, talented, ambitious and nice girls meet up in Nashville by coincidence and hit it off immediately, what should they do? Start a duo and take the entertainment world by storm, of course! Tori Allen from Round Rock, Texas, and Megan Gertken from St. Cloud, Minn., are both accomplished fiddlers, singers and songwriters, plus they can handle piano, mandolin and guitar as well. Tori attended the University of Texas on a violin scholarship, while up in Minnesota, Megan was winning championship fiddle contests. Each felt the urge to try for the big time in Nashville at age 19, as one headed south and the other north. In 2012, the two aspiring musicians met by accident in Music City, U.S.A., and GirlBilly became a passion for these hardworking, driven artists. Now they gig all the time, including frequent appearances at the World Famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville, while working on the dream of making music.
