FAIRLY PERFECT

Tell us something we don’t know: The Illinois State Fair was recently named among the top 20 state fairs by travel website BLT, reinforcing our longstanding belief that the ISF is quite a gem. The website touts the offerings of the Ethnic Village, the great Grandstand concerts, the antique farm equipment displays and more. (They forgot to mention the world class people-watching one can do at the fair.) Illinois appears as number 15 on the list, although it doesn’t appear to be ranked, so we’ll choose to believe it’s number one.
