ART & ARCHITECTURE | Sustainable design

Sustainability will be the topic of discussion on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m., at Lincoln Library. Sustainable design leaders from Springfield and Chicago will share the stories behind their designs and offer suggestions for revitalizing downtown Springfield. Featured architects include Springfield resident Larry Quenette, president and principal architect at Renaissance Architects, and Jeff Sommers, founder of Square Root Architecture + Design. Larry has been with Renaissance Architects since 1986 and has been instrumental in bringing sustainable design to Springfield. Jeff is the mastermind behind C3Prefab, Chicago’s first prefabricated, modular, LEED-platinum home. Jeff will be joined by his wife, Michele, Square Root’s Director of Operations, to share her thoughts on how to successfully market and sell sustainable design to Springfield. The program is free to the public.
