  FESTIVAL | Slam-dunk social The 20th Annual Juneteenth Celebration takes to Comer Cox Park, June 15-16. New this year is a gospel fest on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. featuring local church and area gospel groups. A new splash fountain at the newly renovated playground will prove to be a welcome addition, too. Back is the Gus Macker Tourney starting at 8 a.m. each day with championship games on Sunday. A slam dunk contest is Saturday at 5 p.m. followed by a 3-point contest at 6 p.m. The weekend kicks off with Movie in the Park on Friday, June 14 at dusk with a free viewing of Hotel Transylvania. A Saturday parade from King Drive and Brown Street to the park begins at 11 a.m., with opening ceremonies following its conclusion. Anyone wishing to participate in the parade is welcome, lineup starts at 10 a.m. The main entertainment stage will house a variety of artists and dance teams Saturday with a live R&B band on Sunday about 7 p.m. Parking for the event is in the Public Aid and Superior Walls buildings parking lots.
