Only now, after the District 186 school board voted to close the popular and successful Capital College Preparatory Academy, is Springfi eld realizing the size of the board’s error. There are other ways to close the budget gap while allowing the school to continue closing the achievement gap. If some board members voted to close the school to spite Supt. Walter Milton, that reason may soon go away, as Milton seems bent on getting a new job even though Madison didn’t work out.
