The goal of the Public Participation Program is to involve citizens in the development of CSO control alternative solutions that protect the local waterways and consider the financial impacts to the community as a whole. The purpose of this public information meeting is to provide background on the program, progress to date and obtain input on alternatives for controlling CSOs. All residents within the SMSD boundaries and any other interested parties, governmental agencies or groups are encouraged to attend, comment and provide input into the control alternatives. Attendees will be able to review the project details through a series of exhibits. SMSD staff and their consulting engineer will be available to guide attendees through the exhibits, explaining the background of the CSO program, monitoring results, combined sewer system and receiving water modeling results, CSO control alternatives development and proposed CSO control alternatives.
