HISTORY | Decked out Wright

Dec. 17 and 19 are two of the best nights during the holidays to visit the 12,600-square-foot Dana-Thomas House State Historic Site, which will be closed Jan. 1 for several months for major rehab work. While the site is decorated throughout December and tours are available Wednesday through Sunday to view the Victorian-themed holiday home and its 20 Christmas trees, these evenings feature music, and on Luminaria Night, a silent tour and thousands of light-filled bags. Both nights are free, but a requested donation of $1 per person is asked for on Family Night and $5 for adults and $3 for children on Luminaria Night. This year’s decorations are the work of Kathy Liesman. (See Holiday Calendar.)
