THEATER | Broadcast play Enjoy your favorite holiday classic as you never have before. In this stage production, you’ll witness a live 1940s radio broadcast that includes actors reading scripts in front of old-fashioned microphones, ’40s-era costumes, period commercials and sound effects sounding out via the cast and sound guy, Karl Bockemeier. Beardstown’s Nathan Carls takes the lead as George Bailey and Springfield’s Aasne Vigesaa transforms into Mary Bailey. Pictured is Don Schneider as Mr. Potter and Tom Shrewsbury as Clarence the Angel. An original musical score by Donn Stephens is performed live by Donn and Kayla Primm. The show is sponsored by The Hoogland Center for the Arts, 98.7 WNNS, Capitol Blue Print and Gordon Productions. A holiday song pre-show features Carls Family, Gus and Amy Gordon, Cynda Wrightsman and more. (See Holiday Calendar.) See also
