Dr. Van Norman's number one priority with all his patients is maintaining the best eye care health. This he exhibits daily through patient interaction and communication, as well as, a vast base of extensive training and experience.

Dr. Van Norman arrived in Shreveport in 1994 to begin his medical education. He later completed a two-year fellowship in cornea/external disease and refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern. The additional training was critical in learning and implementing advanced techniques in corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, refractive procedures (LASIK), and makes him the most highly trained corneal specialists in the area. He returned to Shreveport in 2004 and began his private practice.

He has over 18 years of medical experience correcting vision in patients who suffer from cataracts and glaucoma. Dr. Van Norman is an expert practitioner in using LASIK to correct the sight of hundreds of Shreveport-Bossier patients. He also has an extensive glaucoma practice that includes performing laser glaucoma surgery. He has performed over 10,000 ophthalmic procedures including cataract removal, laser cataract surgery, premium IOL's, LASIK, Advanced Surface Ablations, and sophisticated anterior segment procedures.

An impressive new office for Dr. Van Norman will open soon at 8545 Line Avenue. This new business park, developed by Van Norman, is designed around two contemporary glass and masonry buildings. The site maximizes street frontage for businesses that locate there, and it is complemented with extensive landscaping, and ample parking is provided in front of each tenant's space with fully covered parking available. The new buildings' facade features expansive glass walls under a shaded entrance promenade that allows indirect light to illuminate the area. Between the two buildings is a courtyard with landscaping and seating. Additional office spaces will be available to other businesses.
