Shreveport attorney Chris Miciotto has strong roots in the Shreveport- Bossier business community. Indeed, you could say that business is in his blood.

At an early age, Miciotto was taught the value of hard work and friendly customer service. His great-grandparents immigrated to the United States from Cefalu, Sicily, Italy in 1916, and through sheer hard work and determination became successful in owning and operating real estate properties and grocery stores in the Shreveport area. His maternal grandfather, D.A. Barbaree, owned and operated a successful industrial crane and rigging company in Shreveport for many years. His paternal grandfather, Joe A. Miciotto was an executive at United Gas Pipeline/ Pennzoil in Shreveport, and later in Houston, Texas, for over 43 years.

At the age of 13, Miciotto began working in his father’s, Joe R. Miciotto, grocery stores in the Allendale and Mooretown neighborhoods in Shreveport. Once he turned 15, Miciotto began working in his uncle Phil Barbaree’s restaurant, Superior Bar & Grill, as a busboy. Thereafter, Miciotto worked throughout high school and college at various jobs, including as a construction laborer, an ice cream salesman, a warehouse worker, a maildeliverer, and even a ride operator at the long-closed Hamel’s Amusement Park.

After graduating from the University of Louisiana-Monroe in 1993, Miciotto decided to go to law school. Miciotto was inspired to go into law in large part because of the success and reputation of his cousin, Shreveport attorney Ron Miciotto. While in law school in Oklahoma, Miciotto worked as a runner and law clerk for an insurance defense firm.

After receiving his law degree, Miciotto decided to return home to Shreveport to practice law. Miciotto has practiced in the areas of personal injury law, employment law, discrimination law, workers’ compensation, criminal law, medical malpractice, social security disability and family law.

In 2014, Miciotto joined his good friend of over 20 years, Allen Cooper, at The Law Office of Allen Cooper, LLC, in Shreveport, where he practices in the areas of truck/car accidents, on-the-job accidents/workers’ compensation, criminal law and social security disability.

“My strong work and business background has been a huge plus in my law practice,” said Miciotto. “It allows me the unique ability to look at legal issues from several different perspectives and viewpoints in order to best represent the interests of my clients.”

In his office at 551 Kings Highway in Shreveport, Miciotto has many items and autographed memorabilia on display. Among those items is a framed poster of his childhood hero, Evel Knievel, a reminder to Miciotto to be calm, cool and confident under pressure.

Miciotto lives in Blanchard with his wife, two dogs and four ducks. He enjoys fishing and playing golf in his spare time.

Miciotto offers free in-person consultations. You can call him at (318) 865-5291 or email him at chris@allencooperlaw.com to set up an appointment.
