GROWING UP FOR GIRLS

Julie A. Cupp, MD, of Willis-Knighton Breast Health and Surgical Specialists Tuesday, June 20, 6 p.m. WK Innovation Center Room C 1st Floor 2105 Airline Drive (Use the entrance on Shed Road) This seminar helps parents prepare their preteen daughters, ages 9 to 12, for the physical and emotional changes of adolescence. Dr. Cupp will help bridge the conversation between child and caregiver. Two advance registrations are required, one for the child and one for an adult female accompanying the child. $10

SUPER SMART SITTERS

Super Smart Sitters Girls and boys ages 11 and older will learn the basics of babysitting, including first aid, dos and don’ts, safety and CPR. The Willis-Knighton Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute offers participants insight into the joint replacement process, from pre-admission planning to surgery, follow-up and rehabilitation. General Cancer Support Group Tuesdays and Thursdays, Noon 4th Floor Conference Room This support group helps patients and their loved ones deal with emotional and other challenges faced by patients with cancer.

Look Good, Feel Better Monday, June 5, 11:30 a.m. 4th Floor Conference Room This two-hour, hands-on workshop includes a 12-step skin care/make-up application lesson, demonstration of nail techniques and options for dealing with hair loss.
