While the epidemic was brief, it claimed the lives of more than 750, outranking New Orleans in the number of deaths.

Before the play begins, while you are sitting comfortably in your chair, the anticipation grows as the curtain gently waves and the sounds of light footsteps come from the dark. Shreveport Little Theatre Director Robert Darrow will take you behind the scenes to show you part of the mystery that hides behind the red curtain.

Highlights from ‘Auntie Mame’ Guest Performers: Rocky Maddox, local actor/director, and fellow cast members Saturday, April 22, 2:30 p.m. Franks Community Centre Director Rocky Maddox and the cast from Shreveport Little Theatre’s latest production, “Auntie Mame,” will present scenes from the classic play about the relationship between a young boy and his aunt. After Patrick’s father dies, with the guidance of a trustee, a young Patrick goes to New York City to live with his unconventional aunt. The two become quite close despite the obstacles they both face.

The Life of the Party: The Biography of Pamela Digby Churchill Hayward Harriman Guest Speaker: Maredia Bowdon, retired English teacher Tuesday, April 25, 3:30 p.m. Chapel Maredia Bowdon returns to The Oaks with an engaging review of Christopher Ogden’s tellall about Pamela Digby, an English baron’s daughter who was married and linked to a variety of men of wealth and prominence. In later life she became a major Democratic fundraiser and a diplomat.
