Moffitt: Moffi tt Porsche reveals the new 911 to a crowd of excited onlookers. Porsche fans were hands-down excited to see the new model featuring its traditionally sleek and curvaceous profi le and an engine that will leave drivers breathless. The reveal offered few surprises and a lot of class.
Benton: Bank of Montgomery is a Garden Level sponsor of the Benton Farmers’ Market. Located in Benton’s Simpson Street Park, the Market provides healthy fresh produce, eggs, jams and jellies, lunch foods, vintage farm crafts and entertainment to the community. The 2016 market will be open from May 15 to July 10.
Collective: The Artist Collective studio and gallery held its grand opening March 24. It is located at the Court at Twelve Oaks. Among artists were Ashley Hamm and Meredith Piper. Original paintings were on display by other local artists, and guests were able to sign up for art classes.

Gumbo: Gumbo
Gladiators braved the morning chill for some flavorful roux and varied
themes on gumbo. Chef John Strand’s colorful “Red, White and Blue Bayou”
theme won first place for booth decorations. Wife Karen was the
mastermind behind the design and set up. No shortage of fun was to be
found. Thrash Contractors “Raised the Roux,” BHP Billiton served up some
great taste as did last year’s top gumbo winner Thrifty Liquor.
History: On
March 24, History on Tap was once again welcomed to downtown
Shreveport. History on Tap is a beer-pairing event at which 35 beers are
available to sample for free in a free commemorative shot glass as
attendees jump on the trolley and visit five different locations to
learn about the history of downtown’s buildings, places and people.
History on Tap is in its third year of fun, made possible by Glazer, the
Lofts at 624, Shreveport Regional Arts Council, the Remington Suite
Hotel and Robinson Film Center.

CADA: The
Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana held its
annual Hope Lunch, beneficial for sustaining and improving their
programming from those suffering from alcoholism and other addictive
diseases. East Ridge Country Club Ballroom packed a full house of
celebrants.
Spring St.: The
Friends of the Spring Street Historical Museum held a dinner and
lecture benefit March 3 at the Shreveport Club. The featured lecturer,
Dr. Donald S. Frazier, presented his latest book “Love and War,” based
on letters from a Cotton Valley couple from the Civil War era. Frazier
is a professor of history at McMurry University and an adjunct professor
of history at Schreiner University. The book’s character glimpses the
war as a husband and physician. The inclusion of his medicinal recipe
book is said to be the first of its kind to appear in print completely
annotated. The museum tells the story of Shreveport to visitors,
students and residents in its downtown building.

BOM Dixie Youth: Bank
of Montgomery is a sponsor of the Haughton Athletics-Dixie Youth
Program and Benton Athletics Organization for the upcoming spring and
fall Dixie Youth baseball/softball season.
Dazz: The
Dazz Band not only posed for pictures with special VIP guests before
their show at DiamondJacks earlier this year, but also mingled in the
room before taking stage. DiamondJacks has monthly shows scheduled
through June.

Barkus: On
Jan. 17, pet royalty for the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux was selected at
Metro PCS on Youree Drive. Purchasing additional royalty raffle tickets
at $1 allowed “stuffing” the ballot box and supporting animals in the
communities. Winners of the royalty raffle (pets and owner) take center
stage at the parade on Jan. 31 at the former location of Reeves Marina.
