EVERY SUNDAY THROUGH NOV. 22, WERNICK METHOD BLUEGRASS JAM WORKSHOP, Singer/ songwriter Amelia Blake will teach a six week “slow jam” bluegrass workshop, using the Wernick Method. Pete Wernick, of the renowned band HotRize, is known as “Dr. Banjo” in bluegrass circles. Believing that anyone can learn to play and sing, he pioneered a method of teaching new musicians and “closet pickers” to jam. All bluegrass instruments, all skill levels are welcome. OCT. 16: FAMILY FUN FEST, Family Fun Fest is a free event that is open to the public in partnership with CHRISTUS
Health Shreveport-Bossier and the Broadmoor Neighborhood Association.
The community is invited to join us for a night of family fun with face
painting, character appearances, fitness fun and “Big Hero 6” on the big
outdoor screen provided by SPAR. $1 food and beverages will be
available in addition to a food truck. This is a gift to the community,
and a great way to raise awareness for all of the Children’s Miracle
Network Hospitals programs at CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier.

New York City artists will show his work for the first time at the
