As last year’s overall Best of Show winners (for 2014), Gremillion & Pou Integrated Marketing played an integral part in the planning and preparations for this year’s ADDYs. Their team developed the comic book theme for the ceremony. Beginning with a poster design competition amongst the G&P creative team, the ideas and collateral grew from there.
Danielle Richard, president of the American Advertising Federation of Shreveport-Bossier for 2015, said the student competition provided an opportunity students to meet with local prospective agencies.
“A lot of agencies really enjoy the chance to see some student work and get the chance to talk to them about internships or entry level positions. It can be a neat recruiting and networking event at the ceremony itself when everybody is all in one place. It’s a really good line to put on your resume as well. Being able to put that you won an ADDY Award at a local competition adds some credibility to what you’ve been doing,” Richard said.
In addition to the awards handed out, there was also a surprise proposal. Nathan Pizar, of G&P, proposed to Sarah Brabbs after the ceremony, right before The Good News Band took the stage to entertain the crowd.
