LA Film Prize Announcement: The second fl oor media hall at the Robinson Film Center was packed to capacity Aug. 15 for the Louisiana Film Prize Top 20 Announcement Party. The Louisiana Film Prize is in its second year and awards $50,000 to the top rated short fi lm that is produced in Shreveport- Bossier City. With the revelation of each short fi lm title, the crowd got louder and louder. Dozens of entries were submitted from all over the country. Coronation: The Justinian XX Coronation was held Aug. 16 at Margaritaville in Bossier City. The theme was “Jamacia Me Crazy.”
Retirement: A surprise retirement honoring Dr. Gerald Dawkins was held 4 – 8 p.m. Aug. 18 at the consortium. The mistress of ceremony was Burnadine Moss Anderson. Dottie Bell along with board members and friends hosted the surprise affair. The theme was “Make Living Worthwhile.”
