Roundup: Dance lessons and a performance by Trini Triggs were among the activities at the New Horizons Roundup at East Ridge Country Club on Aug. 17. Guests dined on barbecued chicken, potato salad, corn and brownies. There were auction items and raffles as well. Sponsors received a western-themed gift box of goodies.

Sponsor Party: Nearly 100 people attended the Aug. 15 Life Savers Sponsor Party hosted by Life Savers Chairmen Melinda Kent and Maureen Gamble at Gamble’s home. Guests traded stories about their summer adventures, dined on heavy hors d’oeuvres from Bistro To Go and visited with cancer doctors and research scientists. The Life Savers fund-raising project benefits cancer research at LSU Health Shreveport’s Feist- Weiller Cancer Center. The event features an extravagant dinner/ dance and a large silent auction with many items unavailable elsewhere. All proceeds stay in the community to advance cancer treatment and save lives.
