NEST FEST Auction to help with Renesting Project
Presented by Renesting Project Inc., the Nest Fest fundraiser was created to raise money and awareness in the fight against homelessness. Renesting Project Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity that provides gently used furniture and household items to clients of registered social service agencies as they transition from homelessness.

PART 2: LSU HOSPITAL
[Columnist’s Note: In 60 days, ready or not, the state’s LSU Hospital in Shreveport will transition to operation by the “private” Biomedical Research Foundation. For now, this is more an old-style Louisiana political op than due replacement of our centuriesold charity hospital system.

Chocolate and Champagne
An after-dinner cocktail event benefitting Easter Seals Louisiana was held June 22 at East Ridge Country Club. Called “Chocolate and Champagne,” it featured desserts, drinks, live music and a silent auction. The tables were decorated with a variety of beautiful white fl owers.

PSORIASIS

American Cancer Society urges participation in research study
Enrollment is open through July 27 for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3. Enrollment will take place across the Shreveport-Bossier City area at various locations. This is the first and the last time that people from the Ark-La-Tex area will have the opportunity to participate in a cancer research study this large.
