Tonys: Sandi Kallenberg and Kimberly Schlosser attended the 2013 Tony Awards on June 9 in New York City.

Presentation: A game ball and certifi cate were presented to Ronda Seagraves, athletic director for Centenary College, and her staff in appreciation of their support for the 2013 Louisiana High School Basketball All-Star Games, which were played at Centenary on March 16.

Mudbug Madness: The 30th Annual Mudbug Madness Festival kicked off Memorial Day weekend in Festival Plaza. Live music, artist booths, an interactive children’s area and of course crawfi sh, were all part of this year’s activities. The festival culminated with a fi reworks show, presented by the Shreveport Airport Authority, launched high above Festival Plaza in celebration of the festival’s 30th year.

Jindal: Gov. Bobby Jindal held a bill signing ceremony June 18 at the Rescue Mission. Describing it as “common sense legislation,” Jindal said the bill protects hunting game donations and helps combat hunger across Louisiana. Jindal met with legislators and Caddo Parish mayors prior to the signing. Dr. Mike Strain, commissioner of agriculture, also spoke at the event.
