Nature reigns at fave spring fête R.W. Norton Art
Gallery’s front lawn in historic South Highlands was the setting for the
second Shreveport Derby Day Festival May 7. More than 1,000 people
spent the afternoon enjoying mint juleps served by Wine Country Bistro & Bottle Shop and mid-afternoon snacks provided by Rhino Coffee and Buttercups Cupcakes. A network of large television screens displayed the Kentucky Derby race and were located throughout the event. Rebirth Brass Band from New Orleans provided musical entertainment. Guests in vibrant colors and beautiful hats flitted about the garden like gadflies and butterflies. – Mark Crawford 1. A.T. Emory, Rebecca Elder, Shannon and Charles Elder 2.
