Debbie Hunt

Timeless Fashion

Debbie Hunt is the owner of The Spotted Zebra Boutique. Hunt is a true trendsetter in embracing and loving yourself as you are.

Q: What’s your favorite part of being a boutique owner?

Hunt: My favorite part is the relationship I get to build with my customers. I started doing trunk shows and loved the response I got from the locals and decided I should look for a storefront. I went from there and never looked back.

Q: What inspires your style?

Hunt: I am a hippie at heart. I am inspired by comfort and individuality. I live by the motto ‘Life is too short to dress boring. Have fun.’

Q: Have you always had such a unique style?

Hunt: Yes, I think I’ve always been as free spirited as I am today. I don’t let others dictate what is fashionable for me. Just be yourself.

Q: Do you create your clothing?

Hunt: I mostly purchase my clothing from manufacturers. However, I have re-purposed some vintage pieces from my thrifted hunts. I distress, paint and sometimes tear them to make it look that way. Although, I didn’t actually sew the clothes together but it’s fun for me to hear my clients say they love something I created.

Q: What is your favorite brand?

Hunt: I love WildFox. I wear that brand more than any other. The fabric is soft and the fun style really allows me to show off my personality.

Q: What’s the best compliment you’ve received?

Hunt: I am truly flattered when customers ask me when will I be in the store next so that I can dress them or when I hear them saying ‘I love everything in your store!’

Q: Your store has a lot of personality, was that intentional?

Hunt: It wasn’t intentional. I think it’s just an overall reflection of what I love and I hope others get that feeling of love when they come to my store.

Q: What would you want your customers to know or feel when they shop with you?

Hunt: I want them to know how much I love sharing my feel for fashion with them. I hope to inspire everyone to embrace the skin they’re in and not to be afraid to be themselves.
