EDITOR’S NOTE
It went beyond a demographic or a stereotype to identify the structure of the personality we sold the most to. “Who is the girl who buys our brand and what is she trying to say?” I started buying more of the products I sold. I was their target, and essentially, I started working retail for free.

senior Project
I had taken three years off to stay home with our girl, Gracie, but now she is in a preschool program full-time, so I decided to head back to the classroom. I was lucky enough to be offered a wonderful position at Airline High School teaching civics and whatever other class they ask me to, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while.

Love is in the air in the month of February and hopefully all year long. But Feb. 14 gives us an extra boost in our efforts to shower love on the special people in our lives. It is actually the second most card-sending day of the year with approximately 150 million Valentine’s cards exchanged each year.

One thing I see a lot is matching sets of furniture (sofa/love seat/chair or coffee/ end table packages). This to a designer is the equivalent of buying a pair of pants with a belt included or a shirt/ tie combo pack. WINTER expectations
In a medium pot over low heat, melt the butter and whisk in the flour a little at a time. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes whisking the entire time. Whisk in the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until smooth. Add the beer continuing to whisk until well combined.

40 Under 40 Gala
Forty young professionals under the age of 40 were honored by the Young Professional Initiative. The award, presented by The Forum, honors leaders for service in their career, education and community involvement. During the gala, Pete John, managing partner of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, was named the Young Professional of the Year.
