Doctors Josephine Futrell and Sarah Glorioso of Ark-La-Tex Dermatology in Shreveport-Bossier City bring both extensive experience in their field as well as offer a full range of treatment and preventative services for their clients. From skin care to injectables, tattoo removal and spider vein treatments, these doctors can take care of all dermatological needs. Dr. Josephine Futrell Futrell is a native of Arkansas who has lived in Shreveport for more than 30 years. After graduating from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor of science in microbiology, she received her Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the University of Arkansas for medical sciences. As a member of the faculty, Futrell published numerous articles on brown recluse spider venom and immunoelectron microscopy. Futrell graduated from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her dermatology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans.
Futrell is a board certified dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology with 20-plus years experience in adult and pediatric dermatology, dermatologic and laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
“My favorite part is when someone leaves my office in a better place than when he or she came in, whether it’s free of acne, cleared of skin cancer, or feeling better about personal appearance,” she said. Dr. Sarah Glorioso Glorioso was born and raised in Shreveport and graduated from Byrd High School. She graduated magna cum laude in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University and Alpha Omega Alpha from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her internship at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and her dermatology residency at the Department of Dermatology at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
Glorioso is a board certified dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology with expertise in adult and pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. She is a member of the Louisiana Dermatological Society, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. “I love interacting with all types of people throughout the day. It’s great to help a patient get better or feel better about themselves,” she said.
