Argent Financial celebrates its 25th Anniversary in May 2015. The tradition of excellent service and the reputation of trust and integrity are still the cornerstones of the organization. Founded in Ruston, Louisiana, Argent serves individuals, private and public companies, foundations, and institutions through 20 offices in markets from Oklahoma to the Carolinas and from Kentucky to Florida.

In 1990, the company was formed from a spin-off of a community bank’s trust department. Argent’s founder and his two female colleagues were responsible for $50 million of their clients’ assets. They slowly attracted talented people, making sure each one shared their values and vision. Methodically and purposefully, the company grew.

Under the same leadership, Argent and its 195 employees (50% female) are now responsible for over $11 billion of client assets. The staff continues to reflect the values they started with 25 years ago.

As a result of Argent’s unique position in the wealth management industry, they started an initiative called Women and Wealth. As a firm, they recognize that women and men often have different communication styles, needs, wants, strengths, and blind spots. Also, statistics show that females more often outlive their husbands and are too often left in a difficult position. Argent’s initiative is to ensure that women are informed, heard, and prepared so that if tough decisions need to be made, they know they have a partner at Argent.

Argent is now one of the largest independent trust firms in the United States. It attracts industry professionals and allows them to continue to locally serve their clients with the support of a regional firm. The model allows leaders of each market to express their own entrepreneurial spirit and to give back to each community served by Argent.
