Salon Adore

Leslie Zaffater, owner of Salon Adore, is one local woman who loves her job and the beauty she gets to bring to others. Having been in the business for almost twenty-five years and having been a consultant for Rodan+Fields skin care for two years, Zaffater is no stranger to helping men and women develop and maintain their own unique look.

“Having a wonderful clientele base makes my job fun. Several of my clients are longtime clients that I have built great friendships with. I feel so blessed to have these people in my life,” said Zaffater.

Salon Adore is a small, professional salon, consisting of four stylists—Leslie Pardue, Andre’ Weatherly, Ginger Desoto and Zaffater. “Each one of us has our own unique style,” said Zaffater. “We have a combined 65 years experience between the four of us, and are also a partner salon with Eufora—an aloe-vero based product line that targets thinning hair in both men and women.”

Salon Adore also offer services in color, tone on tone color, haircuts, dry cutting and facial waxing.

After hair school, Zaffater started a year-long apprenticeship under David Horton at Brothers Hair Design in Shreveport. “I credit David for giving me a solid foundation for hair styling,” said Zaffater. “I didn’t know a thing coming out of beauty school. You only learn just enough to pass your state board exam.”

Over the years, Zaffater has attended multiple hair shows in New York, St. Louis, New Orleans and Dallas, as well as taken numerous classes in hair color, cutting, dry cutting and up-dos. “Early in my hair dressing career, I decided to go back to college and get my degree as a personal goal,” said Zaffater. Now, she’s a proud1998 graduate from LSUS with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Zaffater, who gets her own kids off to school, understands the struggle that comes for many women who juggle a career with family. “I balance my personal life with my career by making myself take time off,” said Zaffater. “As a self-employed hair stylist, I’m free to work whenever I want. About seven years ago I started taking off on Saturdays when my boys started playing sports. Their games were on Saturdays and I didn’t want to miss them. Weekends are for family. “My advice for women going for their own business dreams is to be persistent, consistent and professional,” said Zaffater. “Be proud of what you do.”
