Can you descibe some of your favorite signature pieces in your closet? Cook: My favorite staple pieces are simple, solid color neutrals.

Do you plan what you wear days ahead or wake up and pick it out?

Cook: I wake up and choose what I wear that day. My husband always teases me because I usually change clothes so much, end up walking out in something different than what I started with.

What is your style secret? Cook: I don’t think I have a style secret, but I do choose things that I love and feel happy in – even if it’s not what others are wearing.

What is your favorite local place to shop and why? Cook: I love local stores like Absolutely Abigail’s, Caspiana Gifts and Clothing, as well as New to You Boutique. They all have pieces that are unique and easy to wear.

Do you have a favorite color to wear? Why? Cook: I wear a lot of neutrals – black, brown and gray.

I then add a pop of color or texture to add another layer.

What do you wear to make yourself feel confident and beautiful?

Cook: I like to dress in comfortable clothes with a bit of flair. I’m always looking for that little something extra – something that makes the outfit pop!

Does your career play a role in your style choices? Cook: One of the great things about my career is that I can dress as eccentrically or as conventionally as I’d like. The kids definitely notice what I am wearing. It makes my day when a student compliments a particular piece I have on.
