Western-themed event raises money for American Cancer Society | by Mary Ann Van Osdell

The American Cancer Society held the Baron’s Ball with the theme “Tip Your Hat Towards a Cure” Aug. 16 at 601 Spring St. in Shreveport. This year’s Baron’s Ball event was in memory of Suzy Ryan, an honorary chair who lost her battle with cancer in 2013. Auction items included four LSU vs. Ole Miss tickets, two Saints suite tickets for Saints vs. Bengals on Nov. 16, a box for Super Derby at Harrah’s at Louisiana Downs and a Golf Getaway to the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.
