Katrina Robinson is one of those blessed women who found her career path early in life. In 1994, she graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas with a degree in Business Administration. Robinson jumped right into the insurance industry, serving five years as a claims representative with State Farm in West Memphis, Arkansas and Monroe, Louisiana. The relocation to Shreveport, LA in August of 2000 established the Katrina Thomas State Farm Agency.

That move to Shreveport has proven to be a lucrative choice for Robinson, as her agency is thriving in its’ 14th year in business. The Katrina Robinson State Farm Agency has over 120 different products available for their clients, including auto, homeowners, health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance and banking products (checking accounts, savings accounts, and vehicle loans, etc). Retirement planning and financial services serve as a strong foundation for Robinson and her team.

There are several things the Robinson team enjoys about the insurance business, but their favorite part is helping her customers plan for their future and being able to see the results. Their commitment to preparing their customers for life’s unforeseen events is their purpose. It’s not about selling a product, but making sure the needs of the customers are taken care of…..”A Better State…” Robinson does not hesitate to acknowledge her State Farm team and the pride that she feels is evident. “I have a great group of ladies that work with me! We have over 40 years of combined experience within the agency” says Robinson. The team consists of four fully-licensed team members: Robbie Southall (Office Manager, 10 years); Deitra Rogers (4 years); Mary Sherman (3 years); Carlette McGee (6 years combined with State Farm) and Sharie Hines (combined 3 years with Katrina Robinson) as the full-time receptionist.

In her spare time, Robinson enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and giving back to the Shreveport/Bossier (Front Row) Deitra Rogers, Katrina Robinson, Robbie Bennett (Back Row) Carlette McGee, Sharie Hines, Mary Sherman community. Her passion, however, is helping others and mentoring them into their greatness. She is a member of Praise Temple Full Gospel Church, where Bishop L. Lawrence Brandon and Co-Pastor Wanda Brandon preside. Robinson is active within the Women’s Ministry and was instrumental in the development of the “Make Me, Mold Me” women’s group. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and Krewe of Harambee.

Robinson serves on Shreveport Workforce Investment Board.

She is very proud of her son, Lenice Redmon, Jr., a Junior Business major at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Upon graduating, Mr. Redmon’s goal is to become a State Farm Agent and continue his mom’s legacy.

Robinson offers up words of wisdom for women looking to start their own business with her proven plan for success: 1. Keep God first and always pray for direction 2.Write down your vision and convert it to a plan 3. Exam yourself and acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses 4. Surround yourself with diverse individuals.

Though she has been successful, it’s been through hard work and perseverance that she’s reached her goals. The Katrina Robinson Agency is dedicated to staying focused, educated, and polished within the insurance field.
