Shreveport has an on-going love affair with a good party. Whether the occasion is a holiday, a wedding, a fundraiser or just a kick-your-heels up Saturday night, there is always something buzzing in this town, and Gumbeaux Event Productions can often be found right in the center of it.

Owned and operated by Terri Mathews, Gumbeaux Event Productions was born in 2007 following Mathews’ 22-year career in mall marketing and event production for a party rental company. Mathews first discovered a love for event planning while creating events for shoppers as part of her mall marketing position, calling it the “best part of the job”. She gradually became involved in community events and has served on the team for the Mudbug Madness Festival for 22 years, and as chairman of the event for 18 years.

Following her career in marketing and event management, striking out on her own seemed like a natural step. Teaming up with her nephew Brad Mathews and their expert staff, Gumbeaux Event Productions reaches a 200-mile radius, and offers the highest in quality and vision for their clients. They excel at taking their client’s vision for an event and making it a reality, turning ideas into memorable occasions.

Gumbeaux Event Production specializes in sound and lighting production, tradeshow production and providing equipment and services for a wide range of events, including weddings, concerts, festivals, fundraisers and corporate events. They offer sound systems, deejay services, stage draping, specialty lighting, and show management for tradeshows.

Mathews has recently partnered with Fairfield Property Management to launch a new event venue, The Supper Club. Located at 610 Commerce Street in the heart of downtown Shreveport, this fresh new spot is perfect for fundraisers, corporate events and wedding receptions. Featuring a vintage feel with exposed brick walls and pickled floors, the venue’s two floors accommodate approximately 160 people downstairs and 200 people upstairs.

Though kept busy with Gumbeaux and now The Supper Club, Mathews considers the term “job” a loose description thanks to the enjoyment she finds in working with her clients. She says “My favorite part is the connection with my customers, most of whom have become my friends. Our goal is to build longterm relationships with creative, dependable service.” Mathews credits Shreveport with a significant part of her business’s success, saying “Shreveport-Bossier is a great place to practice this profession – it is filled with things to do almost every day of the week, with concerts, parades, balls, fundraisers, etc. It really is a great place to live and work.”
