 It is with a heavy heart we report the passing of Kevin Busch, Albany County Representative, on July 19th. Kevin was a strong and dedicated member of the New York State Conservation Council who was active, involved and strongly spoke out in support of the Sporting Community. He was the 2013 recipient of the NYSCC Outstanding Member Award. His efforts in Conservation have included: Region 4 Conservation Council – Secretary, in region 4 he organized and operated raffles for fundraisers to support local sportsman's clubs and youth programs. He was the Albany County Conservation Alliance - President. Kevin participated in countless meetings with Senators, Legislators, and Assembly on the Albany County Rifle Issue and countless communications and demonstrations at the Capitol Bus trips, vigils, demonstrations, and Legislative Office visits on the SAFE ACT and the Second Amendment. Six Mile Water Works Project – he lobbied to approve ice fishing, so Albany city kids can have a place to fish year-round. He also was involved with, Albany County-annual ice fishing contest and youth fishing program. He invited children from single parent homes or children who would otherwise not get this opportunity to fish. He organized Camp Colby Conservation Program for Albany County kids each year. Kevin was involved in the stocking programs - both pheasant and trout. Kevin was an excellent organizer of fundraisers for the Council as well as his local clubs and sportsmen alliance. Kevin was an accomplished Hunter Education Instructor in both archery and firearms. Kevin devoted a large amount of time to Conservation. He is the person who was relied on by many to “get the job done”. As a director and member of the Council he was a strong advisor, advocate, and willing to speak out for what he believed in. He was also seen as a strong family man and friend of the sporting community. He will be missed and long remembered by those that knew him. See also
