Here’s the most enjoyable race you’ll ever enter. Whether you run or walk, stations along the route include donuts, ice cream and beer, as well as other surprises. If you tucker out and cannot complete the entire course, there’s a detour to reduce your route from 3.1 miles into a doable one-tenth of a mile where complimentary ice cold beer awaits you at Celtic Mist Pub, 117 S. Seventh Street, between Adams and Washington Streets. It’s all in good fun to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis, a neurological disease that affects approximately 400,000 people in the United States. But for all you blubber butts and fun grabbers, there’s more slough and gluttony. Whether you participate in the race or not, the street party includes all the artery clogging, bad-for-you essentials: a pig roast, more cold beer and soda.
