A 2007 report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that chlamydia cases between 2003 and 2007 increased by 42.9 percent among men compared to a 17.3 percent increase among women. Planned Parenthood of Illinois celebrates National Men’s Health Week (June 15- 21) and Father’s Day by encouraging men to go to their local Planned Parenthood health center, offering a $5 discount to new male patients during June. Services available for men are: STI testing and treatment, HIV testing and counseling, penile skin lesion/rash exam and treatment, urinary discomforts, and colorectal and testicular cancer screening and referral.
