ENTERTAINMENT | Swapping karts

The Mid-State Kart Club has earned quite a reputation across the United States for hosting some of the biggest go kart events in Illinois. On Sunday the club will host the 19 th annual Go Kart Expo and Swap Meet. The event attracts hundreds of go kart enthusiasts from California to New York to see the latest models in go karts available. Dan Green, president of the Mid-State Kart Club said these go karts aren’t your normal yard karts. The expo features classes of karts that can reach speeds of up to 70 mph including TAG class karts that run from 70-100 mph. Dirt and asphalt karts will also be available to give drivers a wide selection. Go kart vendors displaying vintage karts add to the novelty of the event. The swap meet gives go kart racers a chance to prepare for go kart season in April and learn about up-coming events at the Mid-State Raceway.
