These guys might claim Louisville, Kentucky, as home base, but Nick, the singer and songwriter who started the group, grew up in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on the Ohio River in a family working on five generations of living in the area. He takes experiences based on the place and space he knows, feels, lives and breathes that feed off the legacy of great American literary figures while using Americana country rocking sounds to serve up tasty tidbits of emotional character songwriting. Gritty and grand, Nick and the guys put on a show for the ages as they continue to work out on the road, mostly in the South and Midwest, with time out for a jolly jaunt through Belgium and the Netherlands last June. Their latest independent release, All Damn Day, kicks royally with plenty of power and presence, breaking ground with Dittmeier’s songwriting and the band’s performance. The record comes on the heels of the combo’s Midwest Heart/Southern Blues (2016), plus Nick’s two earlier EPs, Extra Better (2013) and Light of Day (2014).
