  Got a favorite healthy local restaurant, chef or market? Now is the time to let the world know by nominating them for the coveted Snail of Approval. Since 2012, Slow Food Springfi eld has presented the coveted award, not for exemplary escargot but rather in recognition of “producers, purveyors and artisans who contribute to the quality, authenticity and sustainability of the food we eat and beverages we drink in central Illinois,” according to a press release. To nominate your culinary heroes, visit https:// slowfoodspringfi eld.org/snail-of-approval/ and fi ll out the nomination form (note to food professionals: it’s not considered kosher to nominate yourself). Recipients will receive a Snail of Approval decal to be displayed at their place of business and will henceforth be listed on the Snail of Approval page of the Slow Food Springfi eld website. Deadline for submission is Oct. 31 and winners will be announced at the 11th Annual Slow Food Springfi eld Film Festival on Jan. 26 at the Old State Capitol.
