This week’s screening of the French drama The Midwife brought the Springfi eld Art Association’s annual Molly Schlich Independent and International Film Series to a close for 2018.

However, this coming Sunday, March 11, marks the debut of a new series from the SAA – three weeks of highquality, family-oriented cinema. The new series kicks off with the empowering Kazakh-made documentary The Eagle Huntress, narrated by Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley, which follows a young girl’s attempt to become the fi rst female eagle hunter to compete at an annual eagle festival in Mongolia. March 18 will bring director Todd Haynes’ acclaimed Wonderstruck, which weaves together the stories of two children living in different decades, with an adult supporting cast featuring Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams. The animated Ernest and Celestine, about an unlikely friendship between a bear and a mouse, will screen on March 25. “Celestine the mouse happens to be a budding artist,” said Betsy Dollar, executive director of the Springfi eld Art Association. “She’s always drawing, so I think she makes a nice little role model for future Art Association members.” The Springfi eld Art Association Family Film Series will run for the next three Sundays at 2 p.m. at AMC’s Parkway 8, 3025 Lindbergh Blvd.
