If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the people, places and history behind the food you eat, this film festival is for you. The 10 th Annual Slow Food Springfield Film Festival will run from 5 through 9 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 27, inside Foundation Hall at Springfield’s Old State Capitol State Historic Site. The festival kicks off at 5 p.m. with screenings of films from the Real Food Films library, the first-ever international celebration and collection of short films that highlight sustainable food and farming. A light dinner provided by chef Denise Perry of Copper Pot Cooking School along with coffee by Custom Cup Coffee will be available for purchase starting at 6 p.m., and a screening of America’s First Foodie: The Incredible Life of James Beard will take place at 7 p.m. For more information about the Slow Food Springfield Food Festival, visit http://slowfoodspringfield.org or call 341-0398.
