Celebrate four years of contemporary arts programming on Friday, Sept. 8, at the DEMO Project. The gallery launched in September of 2013 with a solo installation by visual artist Betsy Odom, and the DEMO Project welcomes Odom back four years later as part of a joint exhibition. This will be the final “birthday” milestone for the gallery, as demolition is slated for early 2018. This opening reception and birthday celebration will honor three art exhibitions: “Boyish Charms,” which is a joint exhibition between Betsy Odom and Rafael E. Vera; “And when we go we come crashing down,” a collaboration from interdisciplinary artists Sarah and Joseph Belknap; and “Hey, how’s life????” by Brianna Trammel – a continuation of the DEMO Project’s partnership with STNDRD, a curatorial project by Sage Dawson which utilizes an outdoor flagpole mounted to the façade of the DEMO Project as an exhibition space. All three exhibitions will be on display through Oct. 7, with viewing hours available during the opening reception, on Saturdays from 1-4 p.m., or by appointment.
