On Saturday, June 10, join Our Vibrant Community in Enos Park for a free bike parade designed to increase visibility for cycling as participants inventively decorate their bikes into art bikes for a group ride. From 1-3 p.m., participants will undergo bicycle safety training and decorate their bikes creatively for the parade, led by Andrew Proctor, Ward 5 Alderman, as grand marshal. Some art supplies will be provided by Our Vibrant Community, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own materials and creative embellishments as well. The bike parade will occur at 3 p.m., with voting ending at 3:30 p.m. During the parade, voting will take place in three clever categories: “Best of Illinois,” “Most Creative” and “Best Animal.” Prizes will be awarded to winners at 3:45 p.m., and all parade participants will receive popsicles for participation and be eligible for helmet giveaways. Questions can be directed to Rhiannon at 331-2027 or rhiannon@ourvibrantcommunity.com.
