Celebrate the close of the 24 th season of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra with a concert featuring Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux led by guest conductor Andrew Sewell. Sewell, maestro of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, is one of four finalists in the ISO’s 2016-2017 music director candidate search. “Fantastic Finale” will be Sewell’s second performance with the ISO, as he also directed the “Holiday Pops in the Heartland” concert in November 2016. The May 6 concert will feature Dvorak’s “Carnival Overture,” Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez” and Berlioz’s “Symphonie Fastique.” The evening will also include pre-show concert comments by Sewell and Vieaux inside Sangamon Auditorium at 6:30 p.m., as well as a complimentary post-concert reception in the lobby where attendees can mingle, munch and sip with the guest conductor, guest artist and ISO performers. To purchase tickets for “Fantastic Finale,” visit http://ilsymphony.org or contact the Sangamon Auditorium box office at 206-6160.
